TEN CLUB BREAKFAST: WHAT TO EXPECT

DIARY DETAILS

You have been sent a calendar file to add the event to your diary; please make sure you have logged this. Please aim to arrive by 08:30 for coffee and networking. The discussion will start at 09:00; please let us know if you are running late.

DRESS CODE

The venue does not operate a dress code. Most guests will be on their way to work, so the norm will be business dress. Some might dress more formally; others may choose smart/casual. Whatever makes you feel comfortable!

THE ROOM & FOOD

The room is completely private, set with two dining tables to accommodate our groups of 7-10 per table. Welcome drinks will be served, with guests mingling before sitting down to eat. When that time comes, place cards will indicate where you should sit. A TEN representative will be on hand to assist. A hot plated breakfast will be served, with any allergies, intolerances or dietary preferences taken care of by the kitchen. We’ll contact you in advance for that information.

THE DISCUSSION

Our facilitator will drive the conversation and control the flow of the meeting on the day. They will have a seat at each table. After settling in, you will be asked to briefly introduce yourself to your table. Next, a contextualised business challenge will be posed, which each table will discuss for approximately 40 minutes. Following that, the facilitator will lead a single discussion of the approaches both groups have taken to the challenge, obstacles and solutions.

The conversation takes place under the Chatham House Rule, so please be as open as you can. The facilitator will conclude the structured part of the event at 10:30, at which point the single conversation will be allowed to break into smaller chats.

THE END OF THE MORNING

Guests may choose to leave at any point once the structured discussion is over. For your travel home or onward, we’d advise you to plan to be there until at least 10:30. It’s not unusual for a smaller group to remain until 11:00; feel free to stick around for more coffee and networking if your schedule permits.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT

Guest lists are carefully put together and cancellations can affect that balance. If anything looks likely to derail your plans, it will help greatly if you can identify a suitable substitute from within your organisation and let us know about the change. For last-minute changes, we appreciate that work and personal emergencies happen: please try your best to let us know as soon as you can.
